Rhythmns of the Night

Our catamaran

A view of our hotel from the bay

Welcome to the island of Las Caletas

This guy scared the crap out of me. He was standing behind me performing and I snapped a picture. He came up to me and yelled loudly in character, "No picture!" I said "okay" very timidly. Then he smiled, posed and said "Take picture now!"

Enjoying a romantic dinner by the ocean

Our buffet--the food was fabulous

Our table by the ocean with candles and torches to illuminate the night

On our boat ride home the crew put on a little show for us. We got treated to Micheal Jackson...

Jim Carrey from The Mask

And at the end...

The Full Monty!!!!
On our last full day in Peurto Vallarta, we went on an excursion called the Rhythmns of the Night. This time we didn't leave the marina until about 6:30pm and were treated to a sunset on the bay. We also got to see all the lights of Peurto Vallarta from the water. Our catamaran took us to an island called Las Caletas. It was dark when we arrived and the whole island was set up with thousands of candles and torches--there was no electricity at all. I felt a little like I was on the set of Survivor. We were guided up a path to an amphitheater. The show we saw was called Rhythmns of the Night. The show included people in makeup and primitive costumes that danced and re-enacted tribal rituals and hunts. It was extraordinary! After the show, they took our reservation and we were lead to a private table-clothed table directly by the ocean to enjoy a buffet and dinner by candelight. It was incredibly romantic!

We had so much fun! I can't wait to go back!
