A Day at the County Fair

On Saturday we went up "north". We stopped at Mike's house for a few hours (a friend of mine from work) who lives between Glenwood and Starbuck and got a tour of his house on the lake that he is remodeling and played a few games of bean bags. Then, we headed over to the Grant County Fair in Herman. The girls saw horses, sheep, and got to hold some baby chicks! We had lemonade, footlong hot dogs, and enjoyed a few rides.

Can you ever have too many BBQs?

This past weekend, we had two BBQs to attend. But, one can really never have too many BBQs can you? This past Thursday, we went to a BBQ at Lisa and Jay's house (Lisa is one of Corey's friends from work). We listened to music, actually ended up ordering in pizzas (but it still counts as a BBQ, right?) and played bean bags into the wee hours of the night.

Then on Friday, July 23rd, it was Tracy's turn for our monthly BBQ round so we headed over to Cold Spring. We had DELICIOUS shrimp and steak kabobs. Thanks Mike for the fantastic BBQ skills! and a delicious cookie and orange dessert that Naomi made! YUM!! The kids always love playing at the park just one house down and running around Tracy and Mike's huge backyard. When it started to rain, we just moved the party indoors. The kids played Guitar Hero on the Wii and we played Blurt and some other really fun board games. OH, and check out that pic of Chloe and Gavin playing house together. STINKING CUTE!!!! (That one was for you Tracy!) This is what summer is about!!! Relaxing and having fun!!

Out with Corey's friends from work

On July 13th, we had a fun night down in the Cities with a group of Corey's friends from work. We went to a bar called Scoops in Coon Rapids. We sat outside and enyoed the nice weather, played bean bags, and just had a great time!

Theater Camp

The week after the 4th of July, the girls participated in theater camp. The camp is sponsered by Great Theater, a company that puts on children's theater productions throughout the year. They both went to camp last year and had a blast, so we signed up again this year. They had to audition for their play on Monday, have their lines memorized by Wednesday, and they each put on a play on Friday that week. Chloe met with her class for 2 hours every day in the mornings. She played the white rabbit in Alice in Wonderland. She was a little nervous during her performance and said some of her lines quietly, but did a really great job. Taya's class met for 4 hours a day in the afternoons. Taya played an oomph-loompa in Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. She got to dress up in a really funky costume and had so much fun practicing for and putting on her play. It was a long, but exciting week for the girls and it was so much fun to see them try something different.

The 4th of July!!

The weekend on the 4th we spent a fun-filled day on Saturday at Naomi and Bob's place on the lake. We took their pontoon out to a sandbar and the kids had a blast swimming in the lake, swimming in the pool, and of course enjoying some sparklers and small fireworks. We had a bonfire and enjoyed supper at their place. Good times, good friends!! On the 4th we had Tracy and her kids over for supper and watched the St. Cloud fireworks. I love the 4th of July!!!
