I work with some absolutely amazing ladies and I am so proud to call them my friends! We have fun together no matter what we do. We'd been talking for a long time about having some kind of girls get away and finally, finally we were able to make it work. (It's not easy for all of us nurses to get the same weekend off!) So the Friday and Saturday of Mother's Day weekend, we all headed up to the Beachfront Cabin we rented at Breezy Point Resort.

It was an amazing weekend and a difficult weekend. Unfortunately, life didn't stop just because we had a girl's weekend planned. Heidi received some devastating family news on the way up on Friday and she had to cut her weekend short and go home on Saturday. Saturday night, Corey ended up in the ER after feeling dizzy and faint during a concert he went to with some friends. DeNae, Tracy and I had to cut the weekend a little short and drive home around 1:00am on Sunday. However, these two events made me even more thankful for my friends. It's easy for someone to be your friend when life is rosy and everything is happy and fun. A true friend will stand behind you when the going gets tough and always be there to hold you up!

Our cabin had a full kitchen so we all brought food and had fun cooking. We listened to music, talked, and did each other's hair, nails and makeup. Friday night we went up to the Dockside bar at the resort and had an amazing time listening to a really good band and dancing. Saturday we slept in and sat around in our cozies by the lake drinking Bloody Marys, reading magazines, playing games, eating and talking about anything and everything before going out again Saturday night. It was so relaxing! There are so many moments that I still think back on and laugh out loud! Thanks to everyone for an amazing time! Maybe this should become an annual tradition?!
